We decided to carve our first pumpkin in the year 2001 and it looked pretty much like the all known pumpkin faces. Not much details, just eyes, nose and mouth ... they were very very simple compared to the ones we do nowadays.
Our tool was a cooking knife and that was pretty much it ...
